Introduction to bright heat treatment:
Bright heat treatment refers to the heat treatment process (mainly quenching and annealing), a less oxidized or non-oxidized heat treatment process. Gas protection or vacuum condition is adopted to avoid or reduce the oxidation of the heat treated workpiece surface in contact with oxygen, so as to achieve the brightness or relative brightness of the workpiece surface.
At present, the bright heat treatment methods adopted in industry are vacuum heat treatment and controlled atmosphere heat treatment. The quality of heat treatment (especially the surface quality) is better, but the equipment is more complex and the cost is higher.
How many methods of surface bright heat treatment? What are its characteristics?
There are two methods for bright heat treatment of high precision parts, namely, vacuum heat treatment and protection heat treatment. The advanced method is vacuum heat treatment. Vacuum heat treatment equipment investment is large, maintenance is difficult, operation technology is more complex, the domestic application is still expanding. Protective heat treatment is divided into coating protection and atmosphere protection. There are many kinds of heat treatment processes for atmosphere protection. Some equipment investment is large, gas consumption is high, and cost is high, so the protective gas box is often adopted. The protective heat treatment of coatings has the advantages of less investment and easy operation. Although the self-peeling property and protective effect of the coatings developed in China are not satisfactory and the price is expensive, there are many kinds of coatings with mature technology and wide application. Surface bright heat treatment can be used in quenching, solid solution, aging, intermediate annealing, forging heating or hot forming of various steels and other materials.
